um. . . last I heard Vinnie was in a coma. . .
My Dad came home today and said "What will Guitar World write about now?"
I never liked Pantera, but I always respected them. One of the few metal bands that remained viable for more than a few years (hell, a few decades).
But yeah. . . what a fucking metal way to die.
As of 12/08/04.

"Here’s the thing with Pavement, all the albums are clearly from the same band, but they’re also completely different. So it’s like you have your friend, and all your friends of that friend.
Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain is my friend. That album is like a favorite pair of jeans or an old pair of Chuck Taylors. Every curve and turn is familiar. I know the importance of screaming along when Stephen Malkmus says "No BIG HAIR!" I know the whole goddamned album, it never surprises, it’s always every bit as good.
So Terror Twighlight is the smarter, quieter, older friend of Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain and Slanted and Enchanted is the spazzy kid who hangs out with them. Brighten the Corners menwhile is the more outgoing, jokester who you don’t know quite as well.
Yes, I’m being 100% serious here. "Husker Du-Flip Your Wig.
Girlie ran off with everything I’d packed to listen to today (Grand Ulena, Big Black and X), so I had to go buy something.

First Husker Du album in my collection, sure as hell won’t be the last.I’ve got a song for you, Robert.
It’s by the Darkness, track two off "Permission to Land."

Butthole Surfers-Hairway to Steven

Big Black-PigPile. . . I can feel my view of humanity dropping like a stone.
. . . you mean bands who I’d be interested in?
Big Black-Songs About Fucking
Emporer-Anthems for the Welkin At Dusk

I actually am considering expatriation. It’s not a joke.
I heard, I was sad, I listened to "Teenage Kicks" twice in a row that day.

I dunno, I’m just listening to other stuff now, so it feels weird to hang around a board for an artist I’m not really in love with.

For me Pitchfork was a huge mood swing today.
"God Dammit! Not another one!"
"Oh hey! Mike Watt’s coming to town!"
