Every time I hear of John Williams, I think of the episode of Family Guy where Brian has a career as a porn director. John Williams is nominated for an Adult Film Industry award (a woody) for best score of an adult film. It’s a standard John Wiliams piece.

Hey DB, is that the July issue, looks like it’s worth it for the CD!

Actually St. Louis is slowly getting a better music scene and a reputation as a cool place to play. Because most shows go to Chicago (including Lollapalloza), we get excited when people come down and play for us.

I’m still bothered by this cancellation, and suspect something else going on. The real problem is Perry Farrell, who probably pissed off the bands in some manner. Otherwise he’s guilty of putting inside bands in outside venues. Fans of this sort of stuff (well, me anyway) consider a presale buying tickets a week before you go.

Cool bassist, he played on a list of albums by guys like Don Hendly and replaced John Entiwistle in the Who last year.

It feels weird to have to tell somebody this, until I realize I don’t know how to put out a fag in German, or even what a cigarette is in Germany.

. .. . .Hella at the Rocket bar.

Missed the first opening act, local band Ring Cicada. Next act was Needs New Body. Drummer, Bassist, percussionist, keyboardist/vocalist, another keyboards/electronic/vocalist, and a singer/MC who seemed to hold it all together, and made a few forays onto guitar and banjo.
I have no doubt these guys were having fun making music, but too much of this seemed to be weirdness for weirdnesses sake/"dude, that is sooo funny" logic.

Hella was next, and they were tight. As in together. Guitarist and Drummer, they spent the entire show facing each other, barely moving outside of their hands.
Only problem with the show is a problem inherant in so much instrumental/math rock music, the songs are good, but also unmemorable. Hooks are forgotten. I only recognized two of the songs from the hour long set they played.
It’s still more interesting than most chopsfests. And comes recommended. Bring a friend, and some earplugs. If you’re going to enjoy a concert, why not enjoy a few more?[/i]

J Lo is the shrewdest businessperson since Gene Simmons. Did you know she was on something like 54% of US Weekly’s covers last year? The woman knows that Marriage and scandal sell products and is playing with all of us.
