You guys are close, it is to keep them from rattling around. Belive it or not, some people don’t like uncontrolled microphonic feedback, so they have their humbuckers potted to keep it from happening. you CAN still feedback by holding your guitar in front of a reel loud amp, but you won’t squel unneccesarily.
Right now-New words to the "Girl from Ipanema" I made up with a guy from work.
Tomorrow, who knows? I change about every two weeks.
Bono
Michael Stipe
Roy Orbison
and Neil Young
oh wait, we have to like the singer, scratch neil young off, ok songs, godawful voice
Haven’t heard anything BAD about Carvin, mostly that its high quality for its low price. QSC is also pretty good. But also gotta say that if you ever get a chance to acquire a used Crown or Crest power amp, buy it! These are the creme de la creme of indestructability. Kurt Cobain couldn’t even blow these mothers!
Don’t feel so puny, I’m only at about 85 cd’s now, and about 70-something casettes. I’ve had to ban myself from most music stores since I ALWAYS walk out with something.
My big problem is that I always want shit that I can’t find on the cheap.
For us hardcore Midwesterners, Chicago isn’t.
For those of us in southern Illinois, Chicago is a place all the tax benifits go. Anybody whose ever driven on a road in Southern Illinois can see what I mean.
Prolly because they’re so expensive
Hello Foglight, nice to see another midwesterner here, as long as you aren’t a chicagen!
I’m a bit of a latecomer to this thread, but I first heard Dinosaur Jr when I inherited all of my brother chad’s old mix tapes. Freakscene was at the beginning of one of them, I remember thinking "damn, what a great fuzztone"
Later I found "bug" had been copied on another tape, B.A.D. II was on the other side That same collection was the first time I had ever heard the Clash, I rember the tape just stopped and this guy started yelling "london’s burning (dum de dum dum dum!) london’s burning (dum de dum dum dum dum da da da de de da da da, sorry!)" I love the clashWaitasec, the first time I ever head Dinosaur Jr. was when pop up video played "feel the pain" I think it was ’97 or ’98. It failed to move me, I liked it, but not as much as I do now. Ironically that was the same day I heard Weezer for the first time.
Happy Birthday J, if you actually see this you should know I’ll be having hostess cupcake later on with a candle in it. Wohoo! party of one!
Weezer- Island in the Sun
Spoon-Everything Hits At Once
Radiohead-Idiotique
John Fruisiante-Going Inside
Violent Femmes-that one new song, forget the name
U2-Beautiful Day- Robert, that is truely beautiful.
I just read something about Gibson Lab series amps going for around $300-400 for a 100 watt 4X10 combo’s, they’re clean solid-state amps, but they dependable as hell, and BB King uses them. Some fender twins go for $700-800, although they’re clean unless you crank them to their full brain melting 100 watt capacity (Sex pistols used this technique to get the distortion on never mind the bolloks. And Roland JC 120’s are really loud 120 watt solid state amps that’ve been around for years, prices start at a little less than that of a twin. My dad says JC 120’s are some of the loudest amps ever built.
I realize these are all combos, but they should fit your requirements.

I think it’s everything you need to know
Well, of course pavement didn’t care about their own site, they’re slackers. I’m saying the fan sites seem to be down as well.
