Tom Petty-Wildflowers
Too bad, I miss the old "Drop it to zero and give it the hero." days. Shiny clothes rule!
I quite like AAF’s cover.

Yo La Tengo-Little Honda
Pixies-Head On (actually, my opinion on this changes weekly)
POUSA-Video Killed the Radio Star
Mr. Bungle-Mario Brothers Theme
"The Plink Plank Band"(sometimes attributed to Mr Bungle)-Hit Me Baby One More TimeI have Shawn Mullins: Souls Core, remember "Lullaby" actually the cd is a pretty good at times. Also have:
Third Eye Blind, first one
Lit, Place in the Sun
Citizen King: remember "Better days"I have the worlds largest collection of crappy, go nowhere bands.
Can’t Believe nobody’s mentioned Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
Other Notables:
– Flaming Lips: Transmissions from the Satallite Heart-neato lens effect, and I’m always wandering what that 22 stringed instrument is.-Any Primus album ‘cept the Brown album.
-Korn: Follow the Leader, don’t care for the band, but this cover had me laughing outloud the first time I saw It.
And once I saw this album where the cover was all print something like: "This is the FRONT of the album. . . many people like to see the title on the front so it is _______(forgot the title) and many like to. . ."and so on all over the front and back. Wish I could remember who it is.
I never had a problem with cd’s scratching, you take it out of the player, you put it in the jewelbox on the rack, how can anybody have trouble with this?
Don’t know how "rare" this is, but John Frusiante’s solo albums are NOTHING like the chili peppers. Especially cool is his first album "Niandra LaDes and Usually Just a Tshirt.
He did it while trying to recover from heroin, so a lot of the album is unfinished and kinda fragmented. But it’s 100% emotion. Give it a listen, you’ll be shocked it was ever releasedas much as I hate it, I’ve been wanting to hear "Breakfast a Tiffany’s" for a while, I’d kinda forgotten about that song.
You mean besides every cd i’ve bought in the past four years? It’s amazing what great stuff people will get rid of. Just always look at the disc first.
Vonegut, Otoole, Pratchett, hmm. . . most of it has been said by now. . . but here’s a few that’ve been missed:
Everything ever written by Jonathan LEthem, especially "Amnesia Moon", and "Guns: With Occasional Music."
Douglas Adams’s "Last Chance to See" as much as I loved the Hitchhikers Guide books (except "Mostly Harmless") I found this book to be a real gem. (BTW, I always sleep with a copy of the guide next to my bed
)Bill Bryson’s various travelouges- THis man has a pretty unique vision, I especially recommend "The Lost Continent" where he journeys across the United States looking for the perfect small town. Also Check out his books on the English langauge- it’s pretty funny stuff.
Naw man, I was just curious. . . It doesn’t really annoy me, I’m just not a big "tab" person
Alan, with all due respect, have you ever searched for your own tab, or even tried to learn a song off the radio?
Warning though: Compressers can destroy tone. You might want to try out a straight up distortion box for a similar effect.
If you don’t know exactly what you want, you might just want to try a multieffect like the zoom 506, they go for $50 or less on the used market and will give you an idea of what different effects sound like.
Anamaniacs Variety mix on cd, still own it, never listened to it in god knows how long. Maybe I should try to sell it off. . .
