as promised;
Camper Van Beethoven-Cigarettes and Carrot Juice
Beat Happening-You Turn me OnI’ll find a good home for Beat Happening, it deserves better company than Rick Astley, Tripping Daisy, Soul Assylum, and the Boo Radleys.
Also got to puzzle over the fact that the store (one of the local "Indie snob" stores) had NOTHING by Fugazi, Daniel Johnston, or Yo La Tengo. . . NOTHING! What gives
Quote:10.0: Must be Radiohead. . . .
8.5-8.9: The CD is pretty good but runs the risk of becoming mainstream
8.0-8.4: You should buy any green washed out retro t-shirts by this band
7.5-7.9: Good enough for maybe a sticker on your guitar caseTuscadero-My Way or the Highway ($1.99)
Heavenly-vs Satan
Guided by Voices-Bee ThousandOrdered-Camper Van Beethoven-Cigarrettes and Carrot Juice
And I may pick up that copy of Beat Happening’s You Turn Me On that was in the $1.99 bin. I already have it, but it’s depressing to see such an album in the $1.99 bin.
Bunnygrunt-In the Valley of Lonesome Phil.
Remember them? One of the better entries in the love-it-or-hate-it Cuddlecore genre. Got it at the show Fri. It’s actually a collection of "everything that wasn’t already on CD." Includes covers of "Holiday Road" and "Theme from MST3K."

Umm. . .
Doesn’t Fugazi deserve a place on this list, few bands have been as consistant for a 10 year period. Also, Nirvana wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for the Pixies, omitting them from any list is pretty crappy.

Not a purchase, a swap for a Saved by the Bell novel the boss wanted me to toss.Cheesy ’80s synthpop music made on a gameboy sized synthasizer. Yet another band I like that makes it on cuteness and enthusiasm.

Just a question, how many organizations actually expect to get PAID for being advertised on a network?
Just think about it. . .
I’ll take a moment to shamlessly promote semi-local act The Grand Ulena (http://www.Grandulena.com). Crazy instrumenal power trio, bassist (and personal acquiantence) Darin Grey has a nice resume’ including: Bobby Conn, Alan Licht, Jim O’Rourke, K.K. Null, Dan Burke, Cheer Accident, Bunnygrunt, Ikue Mori, Tim Barnes, Ken Vandermark, Early Day Miners,
Will Oldham, Michael Colligan, Kevin Drumm, Gene Coleman, Jeb Bishop, Toshi Makahara, Loren Mazzacane Connors, Glenn Kotche, Weasel Walter, and countless others.
Guitarist Chris Tull and drummer Danny McLain round out the group. I have seen them live twice and enjoyed it. They’re also signed up for SXSW this year, so if you can find them, take the advantage to see the live show.dude. . . .that really sucks.
Congratulations, you have just made a mix made entirely from band’s I’ve never in my life heard of. Even in passing.
Gee, Salamiguy, see something you like?
