It’s typically around 80-90 minutes if you’re a headliner/larger venue and ticket prices are more than $20 (£13) w/o fees. With the less expensive tickets or smaller acts/venues, sets are usually 45-60 minutes.
We got around 70 minutes in Madison last fall when Dino came. It would have been longer, but Murph fell ill during the show. The Cleveland show a few days later lasted for almost 90 minutes or so. That show was a damn scorcher. That show should have been officially released by the band. I mean damn (I’m digressing, sorry).
It may be on this European release of Whatever’s Cool With Me. The wikipedia tracklisting is the same up until “PBE.” It would be the final track according to the wiki info, which means it very well could be a hidden track on this disc. The 90’s were big on hidden tracks.
I just had to be evil myself. I was holding out on going to the Boston show in particular because of J’s local in-store, but now I can’t. I was originally going to catch all four NE shows, but life intervenes.
I am selling the Boston ticket on ebay for the cost of what I paid someone for the ticket plus the cost of expedited shipping fees.
If it’s not a well known site, it’s probably just a malicious site. They sometimes clone or mimic content that is searched for in order to get your attention when you google. I would avoid this unless someone personally recommends it to you or they actually offer a physical product.
I’ve searched (and once in a while found) some pretty rare stuff on the web. It’s cool, but be careful. You’re trying to find something rare while a lot of places on the web are just trying to to get their hooks into you.
It’s probably Almost Fare. “Green Mind” is in the same position in the set that Almost Fare usually is. And Almost Fare, live at least, starts out real trippy. Quite different from the album version.
This is from 1997, my friend. The setlists and attitude were fucking sick. This is the best live Dinosaur year in my opinion. This is the most brutal soloing ever.
The ticket goes to Tom by way of no participation. Haha
Well, this is exhilarating. Geesh.
Sorry. I literally passed out while attempting to post and probably deleted the end of the sentence inadvertently while juggling sleep with posting this.
Also, there is only one ticket, but the two entries means that you get two numbers in the pile instead of one.
September 19, 2012 at 6:40 pm in reply to: Reporting of IP addresses for anyone illegally DL new album #139379Oh, and an update for the original poster, my Jagjaguwar pre-order LP/CD bundle still has not arrived.
I do feel like the album is them on autopilot. The sound seems a little thin on the earlier tracks, as in not a lot of sonic shrapnel and pizaz until the later songs. Farm was, and is, a beautiful album. I would like to hear Over It, Plans, Ocean in the Way, and Pieces live.
Hopefully the album is more spirited live. Look at Thumb, Get Me, and What Else Is New live. They take on a whole new life. Regardless of how spirited I feel the album is, I’m always happy to hear new Dinosaur. The worst track on this album still kicks pop radio in the nuts.
September 4, 2012 at 6:38 pm in reply to: Reporting of IP addresses for anyone illegally DL new album #139375Report it all you want, man. Your misguided (at best) efforts are laughable.
I ordered a pre-order bundle from Jagjaguwar months ago and have spent over $300 on concert tickets (many for broke friends) for their upcoming tour. Not to mention the cost of traveling from Milwaukee to Urbana, IL, Minneapolis, MN, Madison, WI, Grand Rapids, MI, and Cleveland, OH to see my favorite band. And I illegally downloaded the album this morning because I was fed up wtth the fact that my download ticket didn’t arrive by 10 A.M. In fact, my digital download from Jagjaguwar didn’t come in until 3:35 P.M. That’s not very prompt in my opinion.
The reason Dinosaur have never really gotten over is not from a lack of record sales, but because they haven’t watered down their sound. They never made a Nevermind-type album in order to reach the masses. If someone’s lame or lazy enough to ignore them just because of their not being on the radio, that’s his or her own lapse in judgment.
They never capitalized during the grunge/post-grunge heyday. That blame lies with the record company or the band, or both. Or maybe it was just never meant to get any sweeter for them than it did at the time. Some of my other favorite bands will never even be as big as Dinosaur are. They didn’t sell out, so they can’t cash in.
If you want to help them, join their street team and post fliers around your city or town for the nearest shows they play to your location. Pass out fliers after other people’s shows. Or go on eBay, Amazon, etc. and report bootleg sales and the ilk. The only people you’re empowering by reporting downloads are the RIAA, lawyers, Feds, and other smug suits/execs who could care less if your mother was dying of cancer. Our government’s own censorship policies and big brother endeavors are only furthered as this crackdown on torrenting continues.
These are the type of people you’re aiding and this is the type of activity that you are helping:

Nah, empire, you’re right. Black Betty has been used in movies and commercials galore. Although I absolutely love Just Like Heaven, it really is only known by Cure fans and Dinosaur fans. Quicksand wasn’t really that renowned of a Bowie song, but the Dino cover was amazing . And finally, Show Me The Way wasn’t that enjoyable of a cover to me no matter how popular the original was.

Here are some sweet links, son!
Nice little Double Rock demo:

Fuzz Box girl Fuzz Munchkin demo:
He was in fuzz for like 30 – 45 seconds. A minute at most. If I didn’t like fuzz pedals, just J, it would have been a bad buy though.
He is not an in-depth storyteller or interview subject. He speaks his piece and is done. He never seems to feel compelled or pressured into extensive explanations. Look how many pauses or edits are in his video interviews. Tons of them!
This will probably be a bad buy unless you browsed it firsthand before buying it.
