Cool idea. I don’t think my boring life deserves a movie, but it sure would be fun having some say with the soundtrack.

I would say the most insane thing is that you told us this here, instead of bringing the Small Penis thread back to life.
Indeed, that is completely mad!The small penis thread is probably the only time bringing a small penis is considered acceptable.

Glad to hear it!I kinda thought the Bill Evans album would be the thing you`re looking for.Actually it`s one of my top 10 fave jazz albums. You can get the entire sessions on a 3 cd set called The Complete 1961 Village Vanguard Recordings, great sound quality too.I would`ve recommended that earlier,I just thought a 3 discer would be too much for an Evans starter.
I think you should check out Cannonball Adderley-Somethin Else.Miles Davis plays on it,they do an amazing version of Autumn Leaves.Adderley was a ex teacher who could play sax like crazy,he also ate like crazy and folks called him cannibal which eventually became Cannonball.
Thanks again SG. I’ll check out the Cannibal!
I was driving home late last night, and Freakscene came on one of the XM radio channels. I feel terrible for leaving it out of my top ten. I guess it’s easy to dismiss it because I’ve seen it played live so many times, but after hearing it for the first time in quite awhile, I’m disappointed I left it out.So I’ll takle out Pick Me Up, and put in Freakscene.
sg,
Thanks for the recommendations. I grabbed the Bill Evans , Sonny Rollins, Thelonious Monk, and Stan Getz that you suggested. I’ve really enjoyed them all. Right now I like the Bill Evans one the best. Thanks again.
He always seemed like such a nice guy. Music lost an extermely influential person with his passing.

I love instrumental music (I’m a huge surf music fan), but I really don’t like busy jazz music. I prefer melodic/moody insto music. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guysI recommend these albums:
Sonny Rollins-Saxophone Colossus
Thelonious Monk-Monk`s Dream
Bill Evans-Sunday At The Village Vanguard
Chet Baker-Chet
Stan Getz-Sweet Rain
Lee Morgan-Search For The New Land
Gene Ammons-Boss Tenor
Wes Montgomery-The Incredible Jazz Guitar OfThanks for the advice SG. I’ll give those a try. I actually do have The Incredible Jazz Guitar in my music collection, and that certainly is excellent.

-It would be embarassing to hail an album as an underrated masterpiece of classic rock if it turned out it was actually a country album(No Other by Gene Clark.)That being said, I have a Grand Funk Railroad album that absolutely kicks ass, though I can’t remember its name right now. Though I have no idea if Grand Funk Railroad would constitute as Classic Rock, nor if they could be seen as underrated. Homer likes them, so I guess they can’t be that underrated.
I’ve never picked up on Four Sails being sold short, it most certainly is a great album.
Anyone seen the documentary ‘Love Story’ ? I liked it a lot.GRand Funk. Nice choice. Homer J Simpsons favorite band of all time. I actually lived in Flint for about a year when my dad was going to college there.
Love Story is an excellent documentary. That and the Shane MacGowan doc are probably my two favorite music docs.

I agree.Four Sail is`nt as bad as the critics think.Da Capo gets a bad rap too because of Revelation which is`nt that awful though side 1 is certainly stronger.
I like Da Capo a lot as well. From what the guys in the band have said, Revelation was an icredible track for the band live, but the magic wasn’t captured on the record.

"essgee09" wrote:Funny you should mention Thin Lizzy after me talking about Fairport Convention.Phil Lynott did a tribute album to Sandy Denny after her death in 1978.I don`t know if they knew each other but he was moved enough to pay tribute to her which shows the influence Fairport members had the UK music scene.I have`nt heard this tribute but I imagine it`s pretty good.SG
Tribute to Sandy is an awesome song. I can email you the song if youd like.

The solo on Say the Word is pretty damn great. Sometimes I throw on Free So Free just to hear it.

At least you dont have that terrible whats gellin, he’s gellin Dr. Scholls commercial stuck in your head. That would suck.

Good choices on Segel and Elliot. SG the cowboy would drive the ladies wild. Tonas and I would be growing our facial hair just to help our luck.
I’ll look to the Built to Spill Conventional Wisdom video for facial hair inspiration. Massive porn stashe and beards galore. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=21897285″>http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fusea … d=21897285 -
