A lot of J’s tone live revolves around his Jazzmasters, Mashall plexi stacks along with vintage Electro Harmonix Big Muffs. I believe this was probably the case in the early days when they recorded YLAOM as well. Recently on albums like Beyond and Farm J records with old telecasters, and small combo amps (Fender deluxe reverbs, pricetons, etc.) along with his vintage Big Muffs.
Old Marshall Plexi’s are expensive, but I’m sure if you went after a smaller tube combo amp with a Big Muff you could probably get pretty close to J’s tone. Usually a guitar shop will let you play around a bit, so go test out some combinations at a shop before you buy.
Hope this helps.

Yes always nice to hear from an old member. Welcome back!

Great tip, I’ll keep that in mind.

Yeah I’ve been playing the theme song on my guitar the past few days,I think its called Just an Average Weekend. Great tune. I’ll definatley have to check out more of them.
I like the cabbage head skits, rooster girl, and the bobby vs the devil skits. Man there are so many good ones to list. I guess those are just a few that I like.
Also recently I’ve been on a Kids in the Hall fix. I miss that show, thank goodness for season DVD sets. I think that theme song has to be among the best TV show theme songs of all time, right up there with the theme from The Greatest American Hero.
Community is funny, I however am still super ultra mega stoked on Fringe.

I’m sorry Girl being a roadie just won’t do. I must find something for you to do in my band……… cowbell?
At first I thought it would be funny, then the more I thought about it, I decided it would actually be practical. Not to mention subtlety is over rated.
Not to mention then you could play drums in my band!
I’m thinking about getting my wife this book of quickie positions I found. I figure it might be nice to have since we don’t get a lot of time together these days. It might be funny at first but I bet it would be put to good use.
Did you feel like Watts from Some Kind of Wonderful while playing chauffeur?
It is a nice pic though, stunning.

Thats Awesome!
