Actually I don’t think PUSA’s version is as bad as Rage Against The Machine’s.

Brian Ferry -Jealous Guy, in my opinion he totally slaughtered Lennons song.
I Shot The Sheriff -Eric Clapton, stupid to think he could pull this off better than Marley.

As to the who is better deal, I don’t really look at things like that. From what I have heard there are some interesting sounds coming from both, so its all cool with me.

Spiral both wrote and sang his own stuff on the Pavement albums. The only album he didn’t have any songs on is Terror Twilight, ‘cuz Malkmus didn’t think they were good enough. All This Sounds Gas consists mostly of songs that he wrote for Terror Twilight.

Great Motorpsychadelic words Spaceboy. It would take up some pages to type in all the Motorpsycho lyrics I love. But here’s a couple of them.

SINFUL,WIND-BORNE

sinful youth in overdrive
comatose ,but still alive
ugly rumours,wind-borne tell
of pissings in the wishing well
how we lost our way back there
surfin’ high on pissed off glares
we rode rings around our fears
and couldn’t have asked for more

endless summers in teenage lust
like rhinoceros on angel-dust
where nothing’s ever happening
suburbia-mon amour
there was no target we could miss
cruising cool on prejudice
how could we’ve avoided this?
wise men ponder still…

with the picks off of life’s upper shelf
the only place I found myself was
poised for flight in a mensroom stall
drenched in alcohol

and when sun she came peeking through
there wasn’t much more to do
cut our wrists on guilded sins
and closed the door back in

not good,not nice,
but we saw through all of their lies
not mean,not scared
but there

sinful and wind-borne

GREENER

She wore her hair like a rock’n’roll star
with that «wounded bird»-look in her eyes
just another femme fatale on the prowl
the perfect jaded grin
vacant eyes with the promise of sin
I remember thinking «she’ll go far-
she’ll be a star»

I looked that way but turned around
been down that road before
the hook is baited and the trap is set
waiting for someone greener
greener…

all of 26
omnipotent with nervous ticks
the etheral cynic
with too much to defend
I don’t want to play that game
however different,it’s always the same
how could it mean anything
if I force it ,tear it,numb with greed?

I looked that way but turned around
been down that road before
so I’ll head for the ditch instead
and bide my time
waiting for someone
Greener-and stop wasting time with what could have been
Greener-and just keep searchin’ for the places I’ve never seen
Greener-if I could have my shot anew,Iwould paint it
Greener-and not so hollow ,dull and blue.
Greener….

Really hoping for vol 3 to surface soon. Preferebly with a 17 min. killer version of Un Chien d’espace.

I’ve read somewhere that the song Timothy was recorded long after the album was released, and thus ended up on Angels And Deamons. These are just rumours though…

I’ve always been found of Beatles’ Revolver cover and Tom Waits Mule Variations.
And although this has mostly been about other bands than Dino -I gotta say I really like the Fossils cover.

The Wheel is truly amazing, gotta say though, that Blissard is a bit higher up on my fav list.
Sinful, Wind-borne
Drug Thing
Greener ‘s numbness
The Nerve Tattoo
True Middle
S.T.G.
are great songs!! But Timothy and Angels and Deamons are also right up there. As well as almost every album they’ve made.

What do you think of the Roadwork releases?

One of my favourite Tom Waits songs
Take It With Me

The phone’s off the hook, no one knows where we are
It’s a long time since I drank champagne
The ocean is blue, as blue as your eyes
I’m gonna take it with me when I go

Old long since gone, now way back when
We lived in Coney Island
There ain’t no good thing ever dies
I’m gonna take it with me when I go

Far, far away a train whistle blows
Wherever you’re goin’, wherever you’ve been
Waving good bye at the end of the day
You’re up and you’re over, and you’re far away

Always for you, and forever yours
It felt just like the old days
We fell asleep on Beaula’s porch(2)
I’m gonna take it with me when I go

All broken down by the side of the road
I was never more alive or alone
I’ve worn the faces off all the cards
I’m gonna take it with me when I go

The children are playing at the end of the day
Strangers are singing on our lawn
It’s got to be more than flesh and bone
All that you’ve loved is all you own

In a land there’s a town, and in that town there’s a house
And in that house there’s a woman
And in that woman there’s a heart I love
I’m gonna take it with me when I go

I’m gonna take it with me when I go

Cash is great, haven’t got that many albums of his, unfortunately, but love the ones I got and need more bad

I suddenly realised I could do a review of Earbleeding in my schools newspaper. I mean, after all I’m the head gonzo in the music department there so…. Felt kinda dumb, since I didn’t think of this right away. After all, besides getting tons of free cd’s, one of the big advantages of this position is being able to shamelessly plug artists you love.

Allison, kinda embarrased about my last post

Anyways…here’s a nice one from Johnny:
I fell into a burning ring of fire.
I went down, down, down
and the flames went higher.
And it burns, burns,burns.
The ring of fire.
The ring of fire.
