*says in humble voice*
it’s now official -you are the royal Paveness. Especially if you know the intended name of Malkmus’ debut album. And why the name of the backinggroup is The Jicks.Allison, a link to a nice little Gluecifer mp3 -I Got A War. Should serve as a pretty good introduction to the band if you haven’t heard them. I’m trying hard to push some more scandinavian rock on you…. http://www.scumm.net/rockpics/mp3gluecifer.html
Salami, I’m really turning my head upside down trying to find the answers to your trivia… It’s really embarrasing that I haven’t got the answer. I just keep thinking Silver Jews(since young Malkmus is a part of that group,) but they didn’t release anything in ’97. Could have been a couple of concerts though…. Guess I’ll have to hoist the white flag and surrender to your royal Paveness. This really is embarrasing!!!!!!!!!!!

This really brings back some C64 memories! God, had allmost forgotten that this excisted. I’m afraid that it’ll completely ruin my plans of getting any work done today though……..
Would it be possible for any of you swedes here at freakscene to record the show from P3 and put it up at one of the ftp’s?
Violent Femmes – probably the best show I’ve ever been to. They played like raving mad men. Brian Ritchie became my all time fav. bass player that night with some awesome soloes. Also guest stars, the Horns Of Dilemma were great.
Motorpsycho -Every Motorpsycho show I’ve been to has been a blast. They always give their best and somehow manages to do it all completely different from last time. Their concerts may be descriped as supersonic journeys in sound.
Allison, -Voodo Guy for president! Pushing Scandinavian Rock To The Man is great Now you just have to make a subtle hint that there’s a vol. 2, so you have something more to look forward to
Maxini, if the only Turbonegro(Turboneger) album you’ve heard is Ass Cobra -I understand your scepticism. Apocalypse Dudes is by far their best album, I can almost say for sure it’ll be worth you skr.150.
As for pave trivia;
I got a lot of things to do
A lot of places to go
I’ve got a lot of good things coming my way
And I’m afraid to say that you’re not one of them.
The song and album is of course?[ September 23, 2001 08:56 AM: Message mutated 1 time, lastly by Robert ]
btw, here’s a link to a recording of a pretty good concert:
http://pages.vpro.nl/3voor12/artists/artist.shtml?2534202+2584688+2584508+996035it’s in rm format -so I haven’t found a way to download it -but if you’re on an ok connection you shouldn’t have any problem listening to it.
I haven’t completely "digested" Phanerothyme yet, so I’m unsure as to how I feel about it. Allthough I’m kinda disappointed just like you, it wasn’t quite what I’d expected -though it’s hard to know excactly what to expect from those guys. So I’m hoping it’ll grow on me -and looking forward to seeing them live again. It’s always a blast!
Who would’ve thought Motorpsycho would end up at a compilation here at the ‘scene? Not me anyways. Great to see it happen though, gotta love that fiddle in Mad Sun!!
Must also complete my Violent Femmes collection with "3" and "Freak Magnet!"
And I’m still searching for Tom Waits "Nighthawk At The Diner."Defduck, I’m listening to Two Heads right now Thinking kinda Mogwai on bad trip teams up with Silver Apples. Samaya Tewt and Night Listening(Teen Angst) does have a great ,spooky-soothing feel!

Yeah -I got all the "regular" albums, plus a ton of singles and stuff. But Perfect sound has haunted me for years. Thing is I had the chance to buy it a year ago -for $120 But stupid, stupid me opted for food instead of starvation and early death. Boy, was that a BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 20, 2001 at 3:37 pm in reply to: What’s on your turntable and why: Part 2, The Quest for the #66725Yeah, I think that might be my favourite YLT album, and also probably one of the best albums I’ve got. The mood of the album gets me everytime. The perfect soundtrack to an autumn. Think I’ll call it that from now on
