we could get a nice old conspiracy theory going here. I must confess that I’ve never seen J and Jeremiah together….so there you go
Well…since this seems like the day of confessions about that very annoying canadian guy, I’ll have to come clean and tell you that "Summer of 69" is a favorite of mine. It hurts to admit this, but atleast I mostly listen MXPX’s version. As for Adams himself:
Sounds like we’re up for an interesting version! Gonna get hold of that one!
Yeah, it’s great! If you havnen’t done so already you should check out the covers in the uplads section of Freakscene FTP. I’ve uploaded Barbie Girl, Oh Donna, Take On Me and Summer Of 69 by MxPx. Plus a whole bunch more punk covers. Me First And Then Gimme Gimme’s version of the Cheers theme is excellent!
Hey Bates,
do have anything by Gluecifer or Turbonegro? If not you should definetely try to get hold of some!!! It’s badass rockpunk n’ rawl Cold Brains -Beck
Jealous Guy -LennonYou should try the sites listed at http://www.moremusic.co.uk/links/uk_shops.htm#d
It’s a list of all the online shops in the UK. It’s a good chance of finding it there. I’ve seen it previously at http://www.maprecords.co.uk/
Happy searching Was at both of his show here in Norway early may, and I must say they kicked some marvelous ass
And I totally agree Javro, he actually looked happier now, than when Pavement played here in 99 http://www.lapd.com http://www.britneyspears.com
Hi,
a norwegian online shop has the Dinosaur CD. http://www.compact-huset.no/cgi-bin/compact/shop/shop.cgiGot the new album, and some boots. I think it’s great. You still hear where he’s coming from -it has sort of the "pavement sound." The biggest change is in the lyrics I guess. They’re structured differently and aren’t quite as dark and gloomy. This is both good and bad I feel. I loved the way the pave lyrics where structured. All the layers with bits and pieces stuck together to create wonderfully intelligent rhymes. And I also dig the desperation that lurked beneath the surface on some of the songs. Not to mention all the intertextuality. But his new way of arranging is also great in its way. You could say he’s more of a storyteller now.
Anyways, you should definetely check out the new album Some more songs that I’d like to hear J’s version of:
Bob Dylan -Just Like Tom Thumbs Blues
Neil Young -Alabama, Welfare Mothers, Powderfinger
Pavement -Frontwards -would be great with a wild solo at the end.
Yo La Tengo -Sugarcube
BTS -Car
btw -Violent Femmes did a nice interpretation of _Do You Really Want To Hurt Me_ on _Why Do Birds Sing_[ April 17, 2001: Message edited by: Robert ]
