I remember reading an interview in the 90’s and the interviewer said when he showed up at J’s house he (J) was bummed it wasn’t some golf company rep who was supposed to bring him a certain club. Funny.

Sounds like his fuzz to me, he may also be using his Germania pedal to give it a boost too. But thats sounds about it to me other than the delay at the end.
We’ve discussed J’s ever evolving rig numerous times on this site. Thtas cool you found an article that describes what he used mainly on farm.
